Secondary Prizes

There will also be THREE (3) Secondary Prizes available to be won, consisting of:

  • One (1) Fujiya gift card with a loaded value of $500 CAD (the "Gift Card") for one (1) winner, redeemable toward in-store purchases at any Fujiya retail location

The Fujiya Gift Card may be used at any Fujiya store location and must be picked up from a Fujiya store by February 28, 2027. The Gift Card may be used across multiple separate purchases until its full value is redeemed. The winner is not required to spend the full balance in a single transaction. The Gift Card has no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash. The winner would need to provide government ID for verification. The Gift Card cannot be sold, used to purchase other gift cards, used online at www.fujiya.ca, or used for previous purchases. Fujiya is not responsible for a Gift Card that is lost, stolen, or damaged after issuance, and will not issue a replacement except at its sole discretion.

Each Voucher is awarded to a separate individual and is not combinable with the other. Each Voucher must be applied to one (1) Fujiya catering order placed and completed (pickup or delivery) by May 31, 2027. Fujiya may designate blackout dates or times during which catering orders cannot be scheduled. The winner must contact the Fujiya Head Office to place the order and reference their Voucher/winner confirmation. Standard catering lead times apply, and the Voucher does not guarantee same-day or rush fulfillment. If the order total is less than $350, the unused balance is forfeited and will not be paid out in cash, credited toward a future order, or split across multiple orders. If the order exceeds $350, the winner is responsible for paying the difference at the time of order. The Voucher has no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash.

The total approximate retail value of all prizes available in the Contest is $4,200 CAD.

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be substituted or redeemed for cash except at the Sponsor’s discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right, where necessary, to substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater approximate retail value.

7. Winner Selection

During December 2026, the Sponsor or its designated representative will conduct a random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

A selected entrant is not a winner unless and until they have satisfied all requirements set out in these Rules.

8. Skill-Testing Question

Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by the Sponsor or its representative.

Failure to correctly answer the skill-testing question will result in disqualification, and the Sponsor may select another eligible entrant by random draw.

9. Winner Notification and Confirmation

The Sponsor will attempt to contact each selected entrant using the email address and/or telephone number provided with their entry.

A selected entrant must respond within five (5) business days of the Sponsor’s first attempted notification.

Before being declared a winner, a selected entrant may be required to:

  • confirm compliance with these Rules;

  • correctly answer the skill-testing question;

  • provide proof of identity, age and residency;

  • sign and return a Declaration and Release Form; and

  • provide any additional information reasonably required to arrange or deliver the prize.

If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within the required period, fails to comply with these Rules, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize or otherwise fails to satisfy the Contest requirements, the entrant may be disqualified and another entrant may be selected.

10. Release

To the fullest extent permitted by law, by accepting a prize, each winner agrees to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, prize suppliers, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents from claims arising from participation in the Contest or the acceptance, possession or use of a prize.

Nothing in these Rules is intended to exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

11. Travel Conditions

Travel is subject to availability and the terms and conditions of the applicable airlines, hotels, tour operators and other travel providers.

The Sponsor is not responsible for cancelled or delayed flights, missed connections, lost baggage, changes to travel requirements, denied entry to Japan or Canada, illness, injury, weather events, labour disruptions, natural disasters or other circumstances outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control.

The winner and travel companion are responsible for reviewing and complying with all applicable travel and entry requirements.

The travel companion may also be required to sign a liability and publicity release before travel.

12. Privacy

Personal information collected in connection with the Contest will be collected, used and disclosed by the Sponsor for the purposes of administering the Contest, verifying eligibility, contacting selected entrants, awarding prizes and otherwise fulfilling the purposes described in these Rules.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the Sponsor’s privacy policy, available at Privacy Policy.

Entry into the Contest does not require an entrant to consent to receiving promotional or marketing communications from Fujiya.

Where entrants are separately offered the opportunity to subscribe to Fujiya marketing communications, any such consent should be obtained separately and may be withdrawn in accordance with applicable law.

13. Publicity

Where permitted by law, by accepting a prize, a winner agrees that the Sponsor may use the winner’s name, city/province of residence, photograph, likeness and prize information for purposes related to announcing and promoting the Contest and Fujiya’s 50th anniversary without additional compensation.

14. General Conditions

The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who:

  • violates these Rules;

  • attempts to tamper with the entry process or operation of the Contest;

  • submits false or misleading information;

  • attempts to obtain entries through fraudulent or automated means; or

  • engages in conduct that the Sponsor reasonably determines compromises the fairness or integrity of the Contest.

If the Contest cannot be conducted as planned due to technical failure, unauthorized intervention, fraud, force majeure or any other circumstance beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control, the Sponsor reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to cancel, suspend, modify or terminate the Contest and, where appropriate, award the prizes from among eligible entries received before the affected date.

The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected or undelivered entries or communications, or for technical, internet, website, server, hardware or software failures that may affect an entrant’s ability to participate.

15. Disputes and Governing Law

The Contest and these Rules are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Subject to applicable law, any dispute relating to the Contest shall be resolved before the courts of British Columbia.

16. Conflict

In the event of a conflict or inconsistency between these Rules and any statement contained in Contest-related advertising, promotional materials, social media posts or other communications, these Rules will govern, subject to applicable law.
