CURRENT POSITIONS

Fujiya Clark
KITCHEN HELPER / COOK

Overview: Our Kitchen at the Clark Drive location is our Central Kitchen for all Lower Mainland Fujiya stores and catering. As a Kitchen Helper/Cook, you will support with kitchen tasks such as preparing ingredients, cooking, and making sushi. There are many opportunities to learn how to make all of our takeout foods and catering items.

 

Although professional kitchen experience is not required, if you do have around 2 years of experience or more in the kitchen we can discuss a higher starting wage.

 

Schedule: Ideally full-time but part-time also available. Do note that we prefer to schedule for full day shifts. Hours are 10:00AM - 6:00PM but ideally there is flexibility to start earlier on some days (e.g. 6:00AM or 7:00AM start).

 

Pay: $19.00-CA$20.00 per hour

General Duties:

  • Food preparation (e.g. cutting vegetables, breading, making sauces)

  • Food production (e.g. making rice, cooking food, rolling/cutting sushi)

  • Make all food on time for delivery to stores or for customer orders

  • Ensure quality, taste and presentation of food is consistent and up to standard

  • Follow Foodsafe procedures

  • Follow cleaning, receiving and inventory policies and procedures

  • Follow all other kitchen policies and procedures

  • Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment

Skills & Qualifications:​​

  • Basic to intermediate cooking experience

  • Knowledge of Japanese food and recipes preferred

  • Foodsafe Level 1 an asset

  • Physical ability to do tasks (including standing/walking, lifting and carrying up to 30LB, cutting and other hand/wrist based movements)

Fujiya Victoria
KITCHEN HELPER

Overview: As a Kitchen Helper at our Victoria (Vancouver Island) location, you will support with kitchen tasks such as preparing ingredients, packing, and either cooking or making sushi. There are many opportunities to learn how to make all of our takeout foods and catering items.
Although professional kitchen experience is not required, if you do have experience in a professional kitchen we can discuss a higher starting wage.

Shift availability between 8AM - 5PM 

 

Pay: From $18.25 per hour

General Duties:

  • Responsible for general kitchen duties, related to one or more of the following:
    • Food preparation (e.g. cutting vegetables, breading, making sauces)
    • Food production (e.g. making rice, cooking food, rolling/cutting sushi)
    • Processing (e.g. cutting fish, seafood, raw meat)
    • Packing (e.g. packing sushi/bento, labelling, stickering)
  • Make all food on time for delivery to stores or for customer orders
  • Ensure quality, taste and presentation of food is consistent and up to standard
  • Follow Foodsafe procedures
  • Follow cleaning, receiving and inventory policies and procedures
  • Follow all other kitchen policies and procedures
  • Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment

Skills & Qualifications:​​

  • Basic cooking experience

  • Knowledge of Japanese food and recipes preferred

Fujiya Clark
STOCK ASSOCIATE

Overview: In this role, you will ensure that the correct goods are received, processed, stored, and stocked accurately and efficiently, according to company rules and strategies. You will also prepare incoming and outgoing shipments to the warehouse, stores, and customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude. Bilingual skills (Japanese) are a plus. This position offers an opportunity to develop retail and merchandising expertise in a fast-paced environment.

 

Schedule: Preferably full time, with shifts starting at either 9:30AM or 10:00AM. Will include 1 weekend day.

Pay: $18.50-19.50 per hour. Can be discussed if you have previous related experience.

General Duties:

  • Receive, inspect, and count goods against the Purchase Order. Check and inform Leads or Managers regarding damage, expired, or missing items

  • Maintain correct regular and special prices on price stickers, shelf labels and signage

  • Perform daily restocking in an efficient manner

  • Follow proper merchandising standards

  • Perform inventory counts

  • Assist customers with product questions or requests

  • Follow proper handling and equipment safety procedures

  • Follow cleaning, receiving and inventory policies and procedures

  • Safely operate and maintain warehouse and store equipment

Skills & Qualifications:​​

  • Attention to detail

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Knowledge of Japanese food and products an asset

  • Physical ability to do tasks (including standing/walking, lifting and carrying up to 40LB, using hands/wrists)

  • Class 5 Driver's Licence a plus
